WHEREAS! The Legislature presently ha.s before it a Bill for
an Act relating to the City of Saint Paul, providing for a cha.nge
in the election of inembers to the Saint Paul City Council, said
bill being Sena.te File No. 452; and
WHEREAS� Said bill requires tha.t the City be divided into
four districts and that four councilmen be elected from the City,
one for each district, with three additiona.l councilmen elected
at large, to be effective for the prima.ry and general elections in
. 1974� said bill being subject to the approval of the governing
body of the City of Saint Paul in accordance with Minnesota Statutes,
Section 645.021; and
WHEREAS� The Council of the City of Saint Paul desires tha.t
the Saint Paul Cha.rter Commission consider this proposed bill,
Sena.te File No. 452, and give its recommendations thereto to the
City Council; now� therefore, be it
RESOLVED� That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does
hereby request the City' s Cha.rter Commission to consider the study
of proposed Senate File No . 452 and report its findings and recom-
mendations to the City Council at the earliest time possible; and
be it
FURTHER RESOLVED� That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
transmit a copy of this resolution to the Cha.rter Commission.
