WHEREAS� The Amherst H. Wi,lder Foundation desires to sponsor
a 236 Housing Program for low and moderate-income families and
individua.ls in the Thoma.s-Dale Gommunity; and
- WHEREAS= The residents and property owners of the Thoma.s-Dale
Community recognize the critical need for standard housing in
their community and in the City of Saint Paul� and ha.ve expressed
_ their support for the sponsor' s plan to supply such housing; and
WHEREAS, A Citizens Advisory Committee has been formed, con-
sisting of volunteer residents and property owners of the Thoma.s-
Dale Community, for the sole purpose of working with the sponsor
and other involved parties to formulate the housing plan for this
pa.rticular site; and
WHEREAS� The formulation of this housing program represents
countless hours of time and effort by the Advisory Committee mem-
bers, the sponsor, and all other parties involved; and
WHEREAS, The qua.lity of this housing program-:.:.is of the highest
excellence; now� therefore, be it
RESOLVED� That the Saint Paul City Council supports the Amherst
H. Wilder Foundation and the Thoma.s-Dale Community in their efforts
to obtain approval for their 236 Housing Program which would there-
by assist the City of Saint Paul in meeting its need for sound, _
qua.lity housing for our residents; and be it �
FURTHER RESOLVED� Tha.t the Council of the City of Saint Paul
urges the Department of �Iousing and Urban Development to give all
due consideration to the 'application of the sponsor for this housing
program and to grant approval to the project.
