WHEREAS, The City Council, by Resolution C. F. 259674,
approved September 14, 1972, authorized the Mayor, Police Depart-
ment and Public Works Department to negotiate with the Minnesota
State Highway Department regarding the feasability of building a
parking lot for police cars on a strip of land along the North
side of East Eleventh Street between Minnesota and Robert Streets,
which negotiations ha.ve now been completed, and the lease agreement
presented to the City Council for approval; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVEDt Tha.t the Council of the City of Saint Paul does
hereby approve the lease agreement for the said parking lot space
from the State of Minnesota� Department of Highways, for a term of
two years, the said parking lot to be used for official police
patrol cars only; and the proper City officers are hereby authorized
to execute the said agreement on behalf of the City of Saint Paul.

Enclosed please find City Council resolution approving
�he City' s lease agreement with the State Highway Depart-
ment for a parking lot at Eleventh Street for official
police cars only. I wish to call your attention to the-
fact that the copies of the Police agreement which you ��,..�..�
provided me should have the specific term of the lease ,,
filled out on the first page. The attachments of Exhibi�/`���.
A are not present, and the signa.ture page for the City
must include a line for the signa.ture of the Director of
the Department of Mana.gement Services .
I am returning herewith the four copies of the lease to-
gether with a draft of your letter to the Mayor. As I
suggested to you previously, the letter to the Mayor
should explain the purposes of the parking lot and the
source of funding for the improvements.
