The petition, with corrections and supplements thereto, has been checked by this office and was f ound to have in excess of 8,500 valid signatures of registered voters of Saint Paul. In addition to the valid signatures checked, an additional estimated 800 names were submitted on March 23, 1973• As a valid petition would require 7,280 signatures, that figure being ei�ht per cent of the 90,993 votes cast f or the office of Mayor at the last election, the petition appears to contain a sufficient number of valid signatures.
