WHEREAS, a petition for referendum on council file
No. 259662 - Ordinance No. 15195 entitled "An Administra.tive
Ordinance Fixing the Salaries of Elected Officials of
the City of Saint Paul Pursuant to Laws of Minnesota for
1971, Chapter 473" has been filed in the office of the
City Clerk and,
WHEREAS, the City Clerk, in accordance with Section 8.03
of the City Charter, has examined said petition as to its
sufficiency and has reported to the council by letter dated
March 27, 1973 that said petition appears to contain a
sufficient number of valid signatures, now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul
hereby determines said petition to b� sufficient in accordanc�
with Section 8.03 of the Saint Paul City Charter.

To the Members of the City Council:
A petition f or a referendum of Council File No.259662-
drdinance No.15195, entitled and Administrative Ordinance
fixin� the salaries of elected Officials of the City of
Saint Paul, pursuant to Laws of Minnesota f or 1971, Chapter
473, has been filed in this ofPice on November 13, 1972.
The petition, with corrections and supplements thereto,
has been checked by this office and was f ound to have in
excess of 8,500 valid signatures of registered voters of
Saint Paul. In addition to the valid signatures checked,
an additional estimated 800 names were submitted on March 23,
1973•
As a valid petition would require 7,280 signatures, that
figure being ei�ht per cent of the 90,993 votes cast f or the
office of Mayor at the last election, the petition appears to
contain a sufficient number of valid signatures.
