WHEREAS, examinations for the positions of "City
Planner II," "City Planner III," and "City Planner N"
are being sehedul�d, and
WHEREAS, investigation nakes it evident that
eufficient eligible lists cannot be obtained fraffi
amc�ng the residents of the City, and
WHERF�AS, it is deemed in the best interests of the
City to extend competition to persons living outaide
of the City; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the residence requirements for
adffiission to the examinations as provided in Section 10 D
of the Civil Service Ru1es are hereby waived for the
first examinations for "City Planner II," "City
Pl�nner III," and pCity Planner IV" to be held
following the passage of this resolution.

EXPLANATION:
Recruiting for professional City Planners is of little avail
unless the residence requirement is waived.
Investigation has shown that qualified potential applicants
do not meet thia requirement.
