This resolution provides that the residence requirement be waived
for the examinations Por Life Guard and Water Safety Instructor because of
the need to employ sufficient Water safety help at the City's pools and
beaches.
Even though residence requireents have beett waived for these examinations
since 1968, the lists have not been adequate to meet needs.
It might also be noted that the bulk of the applicants axe students
at the area colleges and many of them are not residents.
Do not detach this memorsndum from the
ordinance so that this information will be
available to the City Council.
