An ordinance amending Ordinance No. ?607, entitled:
"An ordinance fixing the duties and responsibilities
and the minimum qualifications for the various classes of
positions in the Classified Service of the City, "
approved February 13, 1935, as amended.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 7607, approved February 13, 1935,
as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out the
minimum qualifications in the specifications for Community Organizer and
for Planning Assistant II; and by substituting in lieu thereof, respectively,
the following minimum qualifications:
COMMUNITY ORGANIZER
High school graduation and one year�s experience in community
organizational or leadership work or equivalent; or one year of
college training in one of the social sciences.
PL�.NNING ASSISTANT II
High school graduation and one yearas experience as a Planning
Assistant I, or equivalent; or one year of college training in one
of the social sciences.
Section 2. This ordi.nance shall take effect and be in force thirty
days after its passage, approval, and publication.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZER
Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to organize Model Neighborhood groups, conduct
surveys, and gather data from Model Neighborhood residents for
the Model Cities Program, and to disseminate information re-
garding the Model Cities Program; and to perform related work
as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To assist in the supervision of Nei-ghborhood Workers.
To assist Neighborhood Workers in the organization of
block clubs.
To assist with the conducting of routine surveys,
To assist in the development and training of Neighborhood
Workers.
To assist with the gathering and dissemination of information
in the Model Cities neighborhood.
To assist with reports to the Model Neighborhood Planning
Council.
To secure facilities for Model Neighborhood Planning Council
• regular and special meetings.
To attend community meetings.
Minimum qualifications: ,
E�ighth-grade edueation and three years' experience in community
organization wor�,�,.a-t-ieast one year of which must have been as

Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to perform routine duties related to making
surveys, compiling data, doing graphic and map work, and
providing information to area residents concerning the Model
Cities Program; and to perform related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To prepare maps, charts, and other informative material needed
in arranging housing relocation, transportation, employment
centers, training programs, and similar services.
To compile and organize data necessary for carrying out programs.
To assist in providing information about the physical, social, or
economic programs to area residents.
To do routine investigational work to assist the planners in
effectively implementing the programs.
To assist the planners at core meetings in the presentation and
interpretation of maps, charts, and other materials.
Minimum qualifications:
