A void currenUy exists in supervision and direcrion during the time that Golf Course Superintendents aze not scheduled. The Assistant Golf Course Superintendents will filt this void, by supervising the maintenance staff and activities when the golf Course Superintendents aze not present. The goal of this change is to provide better service to the golf course pafrons, thereby increasing both the volume of play and revenues. The City is considering raising the golf fees on the weekends. Concenlrated golf covrse maintenance work will expand from 5 days/week to 7 days/week. Altemating fairways and greens will be cut everyday instead of 5 days/week. According to the Division of Pazks and Recreation, the majority of the funding will be realized by reducing 4 Pazks Worker IIIs, one for each Assistant Superintendent position , that is hued. Snnervision Received: Works under the general, technical and administrarive supervision of a Golf Course Superintendent. Supervision Exercised: Assists a Golf Course Superintendent with generai, technical and administrative supervision of a golf course maintenance staff. TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED The listed examples may not include all the duties performed by all positions in this class. Performs with work crews engaged in the maintenance activities of a municipal golf course including: irrigating; fertilizing; repairing and mowing turf; pruning trees and bushes; applying chemicals to turf; and determining materials and equipment necessary for completing routine maintenance projects.
