WHEREAS, An addition to Saint Paul-Ramsey Hospital has
been proposed to be constructed which will necessitate the
obtaining of a special use permit, a variance from setback
rec{uirements and a parking lot permit; and
WHEREAS, The City of Saint Paul has a 27%a interest in
the real estate comprising Saint Paul-Ramsey Hospital ; and
WHEREAS, The addition to Saint Paul-Ramsey Hospital
which is proposed to be constructed will expand and improve the
hospital facilities available to the citizens of the City of
Saint Paul and promote the expeditious rendering of health and
medical services to these citizens ; and
WHEREAS, It is necessary, in order to obtain the said
permits and variance, that the City of Saint Paul join with
Ramsey County in applying for the permits and variance; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED:
1 . That the City of Saint Paul does hereby authorize the
Mayor of the City of Saint Paul to join with Ramsey County in
submitting an application for a11 permits and variances necessary
to the construction of the proposed addition to Saint Paul-Ramsey
Hospital ; and
2. That this Resolution is not to be construed as a
consideration of or a consent to the granting of any or all of
the permits or variances herein authorized to be applied for.

RE: Pxoposed addition to Saint Paul-Ramsey
Hospital; permits rec{uired therefor.
The attached Resolution has been drawn at the request
of Assistant County Attorney, Gary Davis. Since the
City has a substantial interest in the real estate
comprising Saint Paul-Ramsey Hospital, it is necessary
for the City to join with the County in seeking the
various permits (special use and parking) and a vari-
ance from setback rec{uirements as a prerequisite to
the construction of the addition. Please note that
paragraph 2 of the Resolution indicates that this
Resolution is solely for the purpose of �a �1 yin� with
the County for the permits and variances a�is in no
way a consideration or a consent thereto.
Would you please introduce this Resolution at your
earliest possible opportunity in order to expedite
