Tha.t pursua.nt to Petition of the City of Sain� Paul, this Commission, by its decision and order dated May 5, 1969, as modi- fied by additiona.l decision and order dated Ma.y 4, 1970 (copy of which orders are attached), the Petition of Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad Compa.ny for authority to abandon and remove the highway railroad grade crossing located at the point where Alton Street crosses its Ford line spur track in the City of Saint Paul was granted, and the City of Saint Paul was ordered to close this opening to vehicular traffic. 6. The City of Saint Paul hereby requests that the Public Service Commission modify its previous order so as to permit the ma.intenance of the highway-railroad grade crossing located at Alton Street described above because Alton Street has transportation - -- • significance since it connects Trunk Highway No. 5 (West Seventh Street) with Shepard Road. VI That the speed of the moving trains over the four crossings varies from : a slow cra�Jling speed to about five m�1es per hour.
