CITY OF SAINT PAUL Cepital of Minneaota DEPARTMENT OP PUBLIC WORKS 234 CHy hlq d Court Hou 55102 Ma rch 6, 1974 Honorable Lawrence D. Cohen Mayor of St. Paul Room 347 City Hall BUILDING Dear Mayor Cohen: Attached is a Resolution requesting the Corrxnissioner of Highways to review the proper speed limit on Maryland Ave, from Western Ave, to E. Como Btvd, and on Upper Afton Road from White Bear Ave, to McKnight Road. Both of these streets are presently posted for 35 MPH. We feel that the western end of Maryland Ave. should be reduced to 30 MPH to be consistent with the rest of Maryland Ave. On Upper Afton Road, considerable devetopment has occurred since the speed limit was raised from 30 to 35 MPH, including housing and an adjacent school and playground.
