WHEREAS, The Minnesota Fighting Saints Hockey Team is an integral
part of the Saint Paul comnunity, and
WHEREAS, each season The Minnesota Fighting Saints provide the City
with between $125,000 and $175,000 worth of direct revenue through the use of
services at the Saint Paul Civic Center, and
WHEREAS, the Saints provide the community at large with a $1 ,000,000
payroll , over $700,000 in home mortgages, over $400,000 worth of direet
purchases, and provide the attraction by which visiting teams spend over $2,000
per day in our city, and
WHEREAS, there is a need to keep the Saints within the City of Saint
Paul because of the revenue received by the City of Saint Paul and the revenue
generated to the business community of the city,
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED, That the City Council of the City of Saint Paul , and
its individual members, urge the business community to give their full support
to the Minnesota Fighting Saints.
