It is understood that the City may schedule Electricians who work on street lighting repair and maintenance on a Tuesday through Saturday schedule, and that said Electricians may additionally be assigned traffic signal and fire alarm mainten- ance and repair duties. 2. The parties also recognize that Electricians must be available for traffic signal and fire alarm maintenance and repair on � Saturdays and Sundays and accordingly agreed that the City may designate Electricians to be available for standby for such Saturday and Sunday work. 3. The City shall have the right to determine whether standby Electricians are needed for Saturday or Sunday work or whether they shall be needed for both days. It is, however, further understood that until April 30, 1975, the City shall be required to schedule an Electrician for Saturd.ay and Sunday if it decides to use Electricians over the weekend. 4. It is understood that an Electrician shall be available for weekend standby and that said Electrician shall be chosen from a roster to be established by the parties, and that assignments s$all be _ made in consecutive order from said roster. - 1 - _ �' � <.. + � • • • t _ � _ .. _ _ . _: � _ _ ----- - r � � 2s��o� � 5. An Electrician who is designate.d for a weekend assignment shall be guaranteed a minimum of eight (8) hours straight time pay for each weekend day that he is available for standby, it being further understood that call-outs during said days shall be compensated as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and that the compensation therefore shall be charged against the eight hour guarantee for each day. 6. For the purposes of this Memorandum, a standby day sha.11 be twenty-four (24) hours, beginning at 7:00 A, M, and ending at 6:59 A. M, the following day. It is understood that this Memorandum constitutes a tentative agree- ment which u�ill be recommended by the City Negotiator but is subject to the approval of the Administration and of the City Council, and is also subject to approval by the Union, it being further understood that this Memorandum shall be effective when notice of such adoption is exchanged � by the parties.
