Marzitelli City Administrator City of Saint Paul ' 365 City Hall and Court House Saint Paul, Minnesota 55102 Attention: J. William Donovan, Valuation Engineer Dear Sir: In prepa.ring replats for Riverview Industrial Park, our attorney ha.s advised that the Port Authority will require quit claim deeds releasing the City' s interest to some of the streets and alleys that were vacated for the redevelopment of this area. My xeason in writing this letter is to request that the City release and quitclaim its interest to the East S feet of Lots l, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 8, Morrison' s Addition to West Saint Paul, including the West 1/2 of State Street, vacated, that accrues ta these lots. The history of these lots is tha.t State Street was widened by the City of Saint Paul by the taking of the East 5 feet of these lots and when these lots were forfeited for nonpayment of real estate taxes, the tax forfeiture and tax sale described the property as. exce t street, Lots 1 through 6, Block 8, Morrison' s Addition to est ainaul. Subsequent to the tax forfeiture sale these lots weze registered under the torrens system. The Port Authority purcha.sed these properties and the City Council, pursuant to its resolution, C. F. 228666, vacated all of State Street adjoining said lots, together with other streets and alleys in the Riverview District. FRit+K 6. MARZIiELLI EUGHtiE A. KRAUT DONALD G. November 5, 1974 In order to complete the replattirg of this portion of Riverview Industrial Park, it is necessary tha.t the Port Authority register the rema.ining portions of Lots 1 through 6, Block 8, together with the West 1/2 of vacated State Street. I believe that the City of Saint Paul in vacating State Street intended to release all of the City' s interest in State Street as origina.Ily dediCated and as widened. Therefore, I request your assistance in obtaining approval of the ' City Council to the City' s quitclaiming its interest to Lots 1 through 6, Block 8, Morrison' s Addition to West Saint Paul, to- gether with those portions of vacated State Street which accrue thereto. The City Attorney' s office has prepared a resolution authorizing this quit claim deed and if satisfactory to you, would you please process this through the City Council . If you need any additiona.l information, the staff of the Port Authority will be available. Very truly yours, . ,.,• 1 ', 'L____. R ERT F.
