A public hearing on this project, as originally proposed by the Department of Public Works using existing combined trunk lines to 100; of capacity with the new storm sewers to carry the excess storm fla, was held on December $, 1973, and approved per Council File No. 262774. Field investigation in DecemSer 1973, of the existing trunk line sewers included in the original project revealed several areas of structural defects and one area in which . a portion of a 5 foot diameter sewer pipe had collapsed and must be repaired or replaced. A detailed study revealed that a portion of this existing trunk tine could be economically relined, which would cut down its total capacity, thus necessitating a larger storm sewer system. The new storm system proposed witl allow complete separation of storm and sanitary ftows, as compared to the original proposat which used combined lines, and is ' designed for future expansion to the East. I, . It is proposed to let this project during the 1975 construction season. The cost of this project as of May 16, 1974, is estimated at $704,300.00 with proposed assessment rates of $0.0125 per square foot for A S B residential sites and $0.03 per square foot for Class C residential , Commercial and Industrial sites. The estimated amount recoverable by assessment is $36, 175.00. The remaining $663,125.00 is to be financed through 1974 Public Improvement Aid, $68,125.00, and 1974 Water Pollution Abatement Funds, $600,000.00. There are no foreseeable construction problems to be encountered in this project.
