WHEREAS� Pursua.nt to Minnesota La.ws 1965, Cha.pter 705,
Independent School District No. 625 was established and in accor-
dance with said statute, all title to real and persona.l property of
the Special School District should pass on July l, 1965, to the
converted Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, Independent School District No. 625 has requested
tha.t the City quitclaim its interest to the real estate previously
used for the Hammond School site in compliance with the said Cha.pter
705 and at no additional compensation to the City ina.smuch as the
real property has been used for school purposes; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED� Tha.t the Council of the City of Saint Paul does
hereby authorize the execution and delivery of a quit claim deed
conveying and releasing the City of Saint Paul' s interest to
Independent School District No. 625 to the following real property:
Hammond School Site - Lots 3, 4, S, 6, 7, 8 and 9, Block
8, Winslows Addition to Saint Paul;
and the proper City officers are authorized to execute the said
quit claim deeds on beha.lf of the City of Saint Paul.

Dear Mr. Marzitelli: _.
The School Board, acting through its attorney, Richa.rd J. Battis,
ha.s requested that the City convey its interest to the real prop-
erty underlying the Hammond School site. I ha.ve requested and
obtained recommendations of the City Valua.tion Engineer as to
whether this property is used for school site purposes, and his
reply was that it has been school property for many years. A copy
of Mr. Donovan' s letter is attached.
In establishing Independent School District No. 625, the Minnesota
State Legislature, pursua.nt to Chapter 705, La.ws of 1965, provided
tha.t title to all of the property, real and persona.l, of the Special
District sha.11 pa.ss on July 1, 1965, to the converted district;
therefore, the policy of the City of Saint Paul has been to cooper-
ate with the School District in clearing title to its property by
delivering quit claim deeds to lands held in the name of the City
of Saint Paul but used for school purposes .
I have prepared a resolution whereby the City Council would approve
and authorize the quitclaiming of the City of Saint Paul's interest
to the following real property which is dedicated and used for
school purposes. If this is satisfactory to you, I request tha.t
the resolution be transmitted to the City Council and following
adoption of the resolution, our office will have the quit claim
deed executed and delivered to the School District through its
attorney.

either Bill Donovan� Valuation Engineer, or the undersigned.
