RESOLVED, That National Garages, Inc. be and hereby is
granted a permit to install and operate a 112-car parking
lot on property located on the east side of Exchange between
Sixth and Seventh Streets, more particularly described as
follows:
Lots 4 through 6 and 7 through 9,
Block 6, Rice an�d Irvine's Addition;
all in accordance with revised plans dated Received September
16, 1974, and attached hereto; sexbject to the condition that
said applicant-permittee, and its successors and assigns, shall
make due compliance with all applicable provisions of munici-
pal ordinances, state statutes and rules and regulations of public
authorities having cognizance.

Dear Madam:
This is written in response to the application of National Garages, Inc.
for a permit to install a 112-car parking lot on property located on
the east side of Exchange between 6th and 7th Streets. This property
is further described as follows:
Lots 4 through 6 and 7 through 9, Block 6, Rice and Irvine's
Addition.
This matter was heard by the Board of Zoning on August 15, 1974, at
which time staff recommended approval of the pe�nit subject to the
conci:tions of the Traffic Engineer.
A motion to recommend approval of the permit carried unanimously.
Revised plans received September 16, 1974, meet design standards.

A. HISTORY: In 1941, a pezmit was granted to operate a parking lot. In 1955,
a permit to operate a used car lot was granted. A pe�it for expansion of
this used car lot was granted in 1959.
B. AREA ZONING: The area is zoned Co�nercial.
C. DESIGN STANDARDS: Plans received September 16, 1974, meet design standards.
D, FRONTAGE AND AREA: The site has a frontage of 300 feet on Exchange , 180 feet
on Sixth and 160 feet on Seventh. The area of the parcel is approximately
43,100 square feet.
E. SITE CONDITIONS: The site is vacant, and treated with an oil-dirt surfacing, .
It is flat and at "street grade".
F, . AREA CONDITIONS: This parcel is across Fifth Street from the Civic Ceater.
The area is developed coBanercially with such uses as auto sales, a mortuary,
restaurants, etc.
