WHEREAS, The Minnesota Legislature has authorized the convey-
ance to the City of Saint Paul of a portion of the land of the
Gillette Children' s Hospital for Pha.len Park purposes, the land to
be sold to the City for a sum not less than the appraised value
plus cost of survey and appraisals, the authority contained in
Cha.pter 303, La.ws of Minnesota for 1974; and
WHEREAS� The Council of the City of Saint Paul adopted a portion
of the 1975 Ca.pital Improvement Budget for Pha.len Park Improvement
and authorized the sale of $2,000,000.00 General Obligation Bonds in
1975 for this purpose (C. F. 264031, August 13, 1974) , and the trans-
ferred funds from the 1973 and 1974 Ca.pital Improvement Budgets to a
PIR Account identified as "Pha.len Park Redesign Project" (C. F. 264032,
August 13, 1974) ; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, Tha.t the Council does hereby approve acquisition of
the property described below for the sum of $ 71,000.00
and the proper City officers are authorized to acquire this property
and to cha.rge the costs therefor to PIR Account - Pha.len Park Re-
design Project:
Except Phalen Park, All tha.t part of N.E. 1/4 of SW 1/4
Section 21, T29, R22 lying west and north of a line com-
mencing at a point on South line of said NE 1/4 230 ft.
East of center of said SW 1/4, Thence running in a north-
erly dir ection and pa.rallel to the West line of said NE
1/4 627 ft. Thence running in an easterly direction at
90 degrees 00 minutes 605 ft. more or less to the point
of intersection with a line described as follows:
Commencing at a point on East line of SW 1/4 Sec. 21,
T29, R22, and at a distance 1522 .31 ft. South of center
of said Section 21, Thence running in a N.W. direction on
a curve of 950 ft. radius 1065.07 ft. Thence on a re�
versed curve of 1817 .35 ft. radius 1017 .61 ft. to a
