hereby confirms and approves the appointment, by the Mayor,
of Mrs. Jeanne Fischer to serve on the Consumer Affairs
Advisory Committee , to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Leo
Skarda, said term to expire June 1 , 1975.

has been active in many aspects of community affairs
for many years.

RESUME
Name and Address: Jeanne Elizabeth Fischer, 1166 Fairmount Avenue,
Saint Paul, Minnesota, 55105.
Date of Birth: July 8, 1909, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Education: Lyndale Grade School, Central High School, attended
University of Minnesota and Macalester College.
Marriage: Married to John A. Fischer, September 20, 1933,
and moved to Saint Paul.
Employment: Employed by the Golden Rule in the Book Department,
1940 to 1945.
Ran magazine stand, 1945 to 1949.
Established Fischer Magazine Agency at home in
1949 and still run it.
Am a book reviewer for St. Paul Book and Stationery,
giving reviews on a broad spectrum of new books for
clubs and organizations and have done this for four
� years. Am in the Book Department during the month
of December as a salesperson.
Civic Activities: Represented Retail Clerks Union as a delegate to
St. Paul Trades and Labor Assembly, 1946 to 1949.
President of St. Paul' s Poets Seminar; active in
the beginning of the St. Paul Civic Opera
Association; active in the former Theatre St. Paul
and the present Chimera Theatre; Poetry Program
narrator on WTCN for 2 years; Board Member of
Hallie Q. Brown Community Center for 15 years;
Ruling Elder of House of Hope Presbyterian
Church; Member, Board of Planned Parenthood.
Member: Council of Arts and Sciences, Minnesota
Museum of Art, Minnesota Historical Society,
Alden Kindred of America, Common Cause, MECCA,
Walker Art Gallery, Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
and Minnesota Zoological Society.
