Margaret completed a Rule 25 chemical use assessment at our facility (Juel Fairbanks Drop-in-Center) November 2000, nine months ago and entered chemical dependency treatment at ADAP and upon completion entered our Halfway House Program, graduating with Staff Approval. She was a very positive role model during her stay in the Halfway House program. Margaret's' employment as a cab driver is her only source of income and it would be a disadvantage to her to not renew her license. She made an error driving while intoxicated and did her best to rectify her mistake by seeking treatment and continuing her sobriety by residing in a sober environment. She is very committed to her sobriety and takes care of herself by attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. She came into the U•ansitional housing program after successfiilly completing both a residemial treatment program and the Juet Fairbanks Halfway House Program. Margaret is committed to her recovery, actively participates in Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) meetings. To tke best of my Imowle3ge Margaret l�as remained abstinern from aicohol since November 2000. Margaret completed a Rule 25 chemical use assessment at our facility (Juel Fairbanks Drop-in-Center) November 2000, nine months ago and entered chemical dependency treatment at ADAP and upon completion entered our Halfway House Program, graduating with Staff Approval. She was a very positive role model during her stay in the Halfway House program. Margaret's' employment as a cab driver is her only source of income and it would be a disadvantage to her to not renew her license. She made an error driving while intoxicated and did her best to rectify her mistake by seeking treatment and continuing her sobriety by residing in a sober environment. The basis for the recommendation is as follows: On or about October 24, 2000 you pled guilty to a Gross Misdemeanor charge of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Saint Paul Legislative Code § 376.16(e)(5)a.2. prohibits a person from to be licensed as a taxicab driver who has a conviction within the last three years for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. If you do not dispute the above facts, you may withdraw your renewal application at this time. Alternatively, if you do not dispute the above facts, but wish to have a hearing in front of the Saint Paul City Council to dispute the recommended denial of your license renewal application, you will need to send me a letter admitting the violation and requesting a public hearing. The matter will then be scheduled for a public hearing before the City Council to determine the disposition of your renewal application. You will have an opportunity to appear and speak on your own behalf, or to have someone appear there for you. On the other hand, if you wish to dispute the above facts, I will schedule an evidentiary hearing before an Administrative Law Jud�e (AL7).
