Dear Mayor Cohen:
Attached is a resolution requesting transfer of funds from the Contingent
Reserve-Dedicated (09062) to the Department of Police for the account
which permits them to purchase motor fuel.
You will recall in the closing hours prior to the adoption of the 1974
budget, that there was a small sum which is hereby being transferred,
which the Council put in Contingent Reserve in anticipation of a
possible increase in the cost of motor fuel. The amount provided
is grossly inadequate when you look at the 143� increase that has
taken place in the cost of motor fuels to the City for 1974. However,
this small amount was provided and is being transferred at this time.
In addition to this, we are now in the process of identifying the
additional needs for such cost increases which will be submitted for
your review as soon as projections have been completed.
