WHEREAS, Gerald Hanggi, an employee of the Department of
Police, was seriously wounded and became disabled in the course
of his duties as a police o�ficer serving the City of Saint
Paul; and
WHEREAS, prior to adoption of the new City Charter any
police officer injured in the line of duty could not beeome
eligible for additional sick time and Gerald Hanggi was injured -
prior to the adoption of the n�ew Charter and thus his benefits accrued
and were expended witk�o�.� its benefit; and
WHEREAS, special legislation has authorized the Council of
the City of Saint Paul to grant retroactive sick leave for
injured police offioers in reinstatement o� sick leave used
by an of�icer injured in the course o� his employment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVF�, that the Council o� the City of Saint Paul hereby
authorizes reinstatement of sick. leave to Gerald Hanggi �or
1°f9 days and instructs th� .,prop.er City officials to adjust their
records according �o th�is` resolution.
