Dutie s and re spons ibilitie s:

to develop, plan and
coordinate training programs and selected training activities for
City employees; and to perform related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To survey the training needs of City Departments and Agencies and
assist in determining training priorities.
To develop programs to meet specific training needs.
To develop departmental new employee orientation programs compatible
with City-wide new employee orientation.
To arrange for consultants and departmental trainers in specialized
fields to design and present courses, seminars, etc.
To arrange for instructors.
To select training material such as textbooks, films, recordings, and
other training aids.
To evaluate training programs to determine effectiveness and recommend
appropriate changes.
To counsel City employees in regard to positions and careers available
within the City service.
To counsel City employees in obtaining and selecting courses and train-
ing applicable to their career goals.
To prepare notices, bulletins, and memos regarding training information.
To conduct periodic meetings of department training coordinators and/or
trainers.
To discuss training problems, needs, resources, etc. , including consider-
ation of interdepartmental and intradepartmental programs.
To coordinate interdepartmental training programs.
To consult with department training coordinators and/or traine.rs.
To maintain records of the tuition reimbursement program and other
training programs in the City, in order to identify potential inter-
departmental training opportunities.
To maintain records and statistics.
To make reports and recommendations.
To supervise training personnel assigned to the City training unit.
To provide in-house training consultant services.
Minimum qualifications:
College graduation and six years� experience in training or education, at
least three years of which must have been in the development and
administration of employee training programs. (No substitution for
education. )
