Section l. That the �orandtm� of Understandingp dated as of the
effective date of this (�rdinance, on file in the oPfice of the City Clerk, �
is hereby approved arid the authorized administrative officials of the City
are hereby authorized and directed to execute said "Me�norandum of Und.er-
standing" on behalf of the City.
Section 2. That all of the terms and conditions set Porth ia said
Memorandum of Understaxdiag sha11 becc�ane effectiwe upon the effective
date of this prdinance.
Section 3. That any other prdinance, rule or regulatio� in force
when said agreement takes effect, isic<�sistent with a�y provisions of
the terms and conditic>ns of said agree�ent, is hereby repealed. -
Section 4. That this ordinaxice shall take effect and be in force
thrity (30� days aFter its passage, apprc�val and publication.

M�MORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ��'.b'���
This Memorandun of Understanding shall apply to the Planning Coordinator,
an� employee oP the City of Saint Paul employed in the unclassified service
no longer included in any certified bargaining unit.
l. The salary for this employee shall be the same grade with
the same rates as the following positions:
Chief of police
Director, Department of Com�nunity Services
Director, Department of Finances and Management Services
Director, Department of Public Works
Fire Chief
2. The following provisions shall apply to this title:
a. Provide paid life insurance (same as for active employees)
for those who retire prior to age sixty-five (65), to be
continued ta age 65.
b. Modify the vacation carry-over policy to al}.ow an employee
to carry over into the following year up to eighty hours of
vacation with the approval of the department head. (This
replaces the present Forty hour maximum.�
c. MII�AGE ALLaWANCE
City officers and employees may be reimbursed for the use
of their own automobiles for official City business. To be
eligible for such reimbursement all officers and employees
must receive written authorization from the Mayor, and
reimbursement shall be made in accordance with one of the
following plans:
Type 1. For those officers and employees who are required
to use thei.r own automobiles occasionally for official City
business, reimbursement at the rate of $0.13 for each mile
driven.
e 2. For those officers and employees who are required to
use their own automobiles on a regular basis on City business,
reimbursement at the rate oP $2.50 for each day of work, and
in addition thereto at the rate of $0.065 for each mile driven.
The Mayor shall adopt rules and regulations governing the
procedures for automobile reimbursement, which regulations and
rules shall contain the requirement that recipients shall file
daily re�orts indicating miles driven and shall £ile monthly
affidavits stating the number of days worked and the number of
miles driven and �rther rectuire that they maint�in automobile
liability insurance in amounts not less than $100,000�300,000
�'or personal injury, and $50,OUp for property damage. These
rules and regul.ations, to�ether with any amendments thereto,
shall be maintained on file with the City Clerk.

pertaining to the Planning Coordinator, a position no
longer in a bargaining unit. '�he Memorandum includes
a salary ac�jnstment from $1348.50 to $1296.50 bi-weekly.
