WHEREAS, The City Council at its meeting held on August 21, 1973,
requested that the Housing and Redevelopment Authority not acquire the
remaining business property located on the south side of University
Avenue between Dale and Ma.ckubin until a firm development camamitment
was secured by the Authority and conatruction uni�ertaken on the commercial
center; and
WHEREAS, The Housing Authority has selected HELP Development
Corporation as the developer of this site as a commercial shopping center,
and although construction of the center has not couo�enced, the Authority,
at its regular meeting held August 20, 1975, recommended to the City
Council that the Authority proceed with the acquisition of these properties
immediately; and
WHEREAS, The Ma.yor, by letter dated August 22, 1975, has urged that
this Council concur in the Authority's request and authorize proceeding
with acquisition of these properties; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby
authorize the Housing and Redevelopment Authority to take all necessary
action to acquire and relocate those rema.infng properties on the south
side of University Avenue between Dale and Mackubin for the development
of the Northeast Quadrant and revitalization of University Avenue.

This resolution was approved unanimously by
the members of the Finance Committee and referred
back to the City Clerk's Office for inclusion on
the City Council Agenda for Tuesday, Sept. 2, 1975.
