WHEREAS, the Council, pursu�.nt to the provisions of Section 12, 09 of the S�.int Paul City Charter and the Public Employment Labor Relations Act, as amended, recognizes that for the purpose of ineeting and negotiating the terms and conditions of employm�nt, the United Association of Plumbers and Gas Fitters, Local 34, is the exclusive representativ�e for City employees holding the title of Water Meter Serv�iceman as certified by the Bureau of Mediation Services under Case Numb�er 73-PR-527-A dat�d May 21, 1973, and WHEREA5, the City through designated representataves and exclusive representatives have met in good faith, negotiated conditions and terms of employment for the period through May 31, 1976, for Water Meter Servicemen, now, therefore, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN; Section 1. That the Agreementi created as of the ef�ective date of this ordinance between the City of Saint Paul and the above-de�cribed representa- tive, on file in the office of the City �lerk, is hereby approved, and the authorized administrative officials of the City are hereby authorized and . directed to execute said Agreement o� behalf of the City. Section 2. In full settlement of 1974 negotiations relative to rates and conditions for Water Meter Servicernen, the parties hereto have agreed as follows : (1) Except as herein modified, the Agreement between the parties, entered into October 30, 1973, shall be the basis of the forthcoming Labor Agreement. (2) Appendix C of said Agreement shall be replaced with Appendix C which is attached hereto and � made a part hereof. (3) Effective January 1, 1974, the vacation schedule for Water Meter Servicemen shall be improved as follows: (a) For those employees with at least fifteen (15) years service, but less than twenty- five (25) years service, a total of one (1) day shall be added to existing vacation schedule; (b) For those employees with twenty-five (25) years or more of service, a total of two (2) vacation days shall be added to the existing vacation schedule. Effective January 1, 1974, two (2) floating holidays shall be added to the paid holiday ' "� schedule of these employees, for a total of two floating (2) holidays. ��5,.,� !�� ' It is agreed that the City' s obligationsfor the year 1974 hereunder may be satisfied by pro- viding these employees with an option of ad- ditional vacation and floating holidays or cash for same. Any employee desiring time off shall manifest said desire by writing a letter to said effect, which must be received on or before ' August 1, 1975. Any employee who does not direct such a letter shall receive a cash allow- ance within thirty (30) days of the effective date � of this Agreement. (4) It is also agreed that the duration of the 1974 Agreement shall be through April 30, 1975, and that said termination date shall be set forth in Section 28. 1 of the new collective bargaining Agreement, except that the wage rates provided herein for Water Meter Servicemen shall be ef- fective through May 31, 1976. (5) It is understood that except as modified herein, the Memorandum of Agreement bEtween the parties of March, 1975, shall remain in effect and un- altered.
