WHEREAS, Franchise Realty Interstate Corporation has made
application to the City of Saint Paul for a permit to construct
and operate a fast food restaurant on certain property located on
Suburban Avenue between White Bear Avenue and Ruth Street, such
property more particularly described in an application dated
February 21, 19'75 ; and
WI�REAS, at past hearings held by the City E�ouncil relative
to commercial development in this immediate area evidence was
obtained which indicated that further commercial expansion in
the area wherein this restaurant is proposed to be located is
likely to create traffie congestion and possible traffic hazards
both for the immediate area and the adjoining residential distriet;
and
WHEREAS, the City is continually searching for vacant land
within the City of Saint Paul which may be aequired by the City of
Saint Paul for use •as active or passive parka or open spaoe,
now, therefore , be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby requ�sts that the
�rp�€r city departments and personnel review, stw�dy and negotiate
with the proper parties for the purchase, for use as paaks and�or
open space , the property whieh is the subject matter of the above .
described permit application.
