WHEREAS, on May 13 the Temple of Aaron congregation
will be honoring Rabbi and Mrs. Bernard S. Raskas on the occasion
of their 25th year of service to the Temple of A.aron and on the
occasion of Rabbi Raskas receiving the Doctor of Divinity degree
from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America; and
WHEREAS, Rabbi and Mrs. Raskas are well known
throughout the city for their dedicated parti.cipation as officers
and loyal members of such organizations as the St. Paul Area
Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, the St. Paul Human Rights
Commission, the American Cancer 5ociety, the United Jewish
Appeal, the Rabbinical Assembly of A.merica, and the Jewish Museum
of New York; and
WHEREAS, Rabbi Ras:kas has had numerous books published
and has written for publications such as the American Jewish World,
the Readers' Digest, and the Catholic Iaigest; so, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that this Council, on its own behalf and on behalf
of the people of St. Paul, hereby ext ends its sincere congratulati.ons
and best wishes to Rabbi and Mrs. Bernard S. Raskas for their
twenty-five years of profound spiritual and civi.c leadership and
thoughtful dedicati.on to the improvement of our lives and our community.
