RESOLVED, That the proper City officers are
authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the
City of Saint Paul, an Agreement between the City and the
County of Ramsey whereby the City and County agree to
cooperate in the establishment of an Urban Corps �
Coordinator position; an individual to be hired under !
the Civil Service of Ramsey County, and whereby the �I
County will appropriate $6, 764.59, and the 'City will i�
appropriate $11, 393.77 to this program, all in
accordance with the adopted Budget of the City of
Saint Paul as approved by the City Council.

, � THIS AGREEMENT, Made and entered into this lst day of January
1975_by and.between the CITY OF SAINT PAUL, hereinafter referred to as the_"CITY",
and the COUNTY OF RAMSEY, acting by and through its Board of Commissioners, here-
inafter referred to as the "County", both acting pursuant to the provision of
Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.59;
WITNE SSETfi:
WI�REAS, The City and the County each have the authority and the desire
to establish an Urban Corps Intern Work Program to provide college students with
meaningful responsible positions in City and County Government under a program which
is funded primarily by Federal Work Study money, which pays 80% of the student's
stipend while he/she is employed by local government in an internship capacity; and
WHEREAS, The objectives of the program are:
1. To provide the City and County with the skills, moti_v3tion,
creativity, and enthusiasm of college students. �
2. To provide the college student with a valuable work experience '?
in local government and at the same time expose her/him to ��
some of the realistic, pragmatic problems in City and County ,
Government.
3. To create a liaison between local government and the academic r
community, thereby.enabling both to utilize more fully the �:
resources of the other. '
NOW, THEREFORE, By mutual agreement of the parties hereto, the following
agreement is entered into and made effective as follows: �"

l. An Urban Corps Intern Work Program shall be carried on under F�
� the supervision of an Urban Corps Coordinator, whose duties
shall be as follows: g�
a. Introduce and describe the operational procc:dures of
the Intern Program to the various depar�ments.
