2 WHEREAS, unplementation of a signage program identifying the City's five heritage preservation districts will
3 fitrther the City's heritage preservation policies as adopted in Saint Pau] Legislative Code § 73.01; and

5 VJHEREAS, the Minnesota Historical Sociely's Certified Local Government Grant Program (hereinafter "Program"),
6 has grant money available for pub]ic education and activities and has made "increasing community awareness of the value of
7 Mlnnesota's historic resources" a priority in its state histozic preservation plan; and
S
9 WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Pau] authorized the Office of License, Inspections and Environmental
10 Protection (hereinafter "LIEP) to prepaze and submit, on the behalf of the Heritage Preservation Commission, a grant request
11 to the Program in the amount of $8,950.00 for the purpose of creating and installing signs that identify each of the five
12 historic preservation districts; and
13
14 WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul further authorized LIEP to provide an addifional $9,196.05 as a
15 cash and in-kind match; and
16
17 WFIEREAS, the Program awazded $8,950.OQ to LIEP on behalf of the Heritage Preservation Commission to
18 implement a signage program identifying the City's five heritage preservation districts; now, therefore, be it
19
20 RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes LIEP to accept $8,95Q.00 from the Program on
21 behalf of the Heritage Preservation Commission to implement a signage program identifying the City's five heritage
22 preservation districts.
