1 WHEREAS, pursuant to Council File #86-1124, residential peRnit parking was previously instituted on behalf of
2 the resideMS residing in the University of St. Thomas College area in accordance with Chapter � 68 of the Saint Pauf
3 Legislative Code; and

5 WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Sairrt Paul previously found that the aforementioned residential area did
6 not have sufficient off street parking to accommodate the residential parking needs of the residents as well as the
7 parking needs of non-residents who use non-residential facilities in the area which lack sufficient off-street parking; and
8
9 WHEREAS, affected residents have subsequently submitted petitions requesting that certain permit parking
l0 restrictions be installed on these blocks;

72 WHEREAS, Public Works staff has investigated the basis for the petition and concluded and recommended
13 adoption of the changes requested in the petition, especially because of the "satety" concerns;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the following parking regulations shall be established in the
residential area near the University of St. Thomas as follows:
Establish No Parking 8AM-8PM Monday-Friday Except by Permit, Area 22 parking regulation on the following
19 blocks:

21 East side of Cretin Ave. from Lincoln Ave. to Goodrich Ave.
22 East side of Cretin Ave. from Goodrich Ave. to Fairmount Ave.
23 East side of Cretin Ave. from Fairmount Ave. to Princeton Ave.

25 BE {T FItdALLY RESOLVED, that these parking regulations wil{ be in effect and be enforced thirty (30) days after

They have submitted petitions to establish permit parking which will remove student parking. The other
side of Cretin Ave. is currently No Parking.
