, . A. �erati.ng Program for Benefited Tree Maintenance Districts.
_ 1. District Street Tree Trimming; in this operat�on trees
will be tritnmed to:
a) Preserve their healt�i: Dead, diseas�d, or in,sect . infested'
ranc es are remove��to preven't decay produci�g fungi from
penetrating , into the part of the tree to°�w�.ich these branches
are attached,- Live branche�s are remov'ed to permit penetra�►
tion of su�nlight and Circulation of: air th�'ough the canopy,
or to compensate for the loss of roots fx�om root ct�tting. .

� b) Insure �safe�t�. Dead, split and broken branche� are removed: �
to nsur-e pu�Lic safety. Low hanging branches are r�moved
to a heigh't where they will not interfere with pedestrian ` -
and vehicular traffic. Trimming is also required to insure

or hazaxdous txees or parts thexeof necessary to instzre the
safety of li,fe and property,
c} Tree Repair. In this operation weaic. or split tree cxotches
are strengthened by bolting° and Gabling to preserve trees
and to correct hazardous conditions. �
d) Starm Damage Clearitl�, In this operation up»rooted trees ,
roeen and-Fianging ranches, fallen branches , etc, from
public trees caused by adverse weather conditions are cleaned
up, and., dispose:d.
e) Insect and Disease Con'trol, In this operat,i.s�n programs to '
