01-751ORIGINAL Green Sheet # � � ��� l 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 RESOLUTION CITY OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA Presented By Referred To Council File # � ��7S � Resolution # COmmittee: Date AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR OPPORTUNITY GRANTS THROUGH TH� LIVABLE COMNIUNITIES DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is a participant in the Livable Communities Act's Housing Incentives Program for 2001 as determined by the Metropolitan Council, and is therefore eligible to make application for funds under the Livable Communities Demonstration Account; and WI3EREAS, the City has identified proposed projects within the City that meet the Demonstration Account's purposes and criteria; and WHEREAS, the CiTy has the institutional, managerial and financial capability to ensure adequate project administration; and WH�REAS, the City certifies that it will comply with all applicable laws and regulations as stated in the contract agreements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the CiTy Council of Saint Paul, Minnesota agrees to act as legal sponsor for the projects contained in the opporlunity grant applications submitted on August 1, 2001; and BE IT FURTfI�R RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Planning and Economic Development is hereby authorized to apply to the Metropolitan Council for this funding on behalf of the City of Saint Paul and to execute such agreements as aze necessary to implement the project on behalf of the applicant. In order to apply for funding, the City must adopt a resolution authorizing the Director of PED to submit applications. The due date for applications is August 1, 2001.
