This Plat included a condition that the property owner upon vacation of Atwater and Mackubin, whic intersect the site, dedicated a 25-foot'wide parcel of land along Como Avenue for a landscape green strip. In subsequent City Council actions, the requirement of the dedication was never imposed. Also, PED and Public Works staff agree that the dedication is no longer required , The advantage of negating, wai_ving, and releasing the requirement is that the Port Authority : will be able to own and maiatain the 25-foot wide parcel as a landscaped green strip, which will releive the City of Saint Paul of that duty. In a subsequent City Council action approving street vacations, which was to be the trigger for the dedication, the City Council did not require that the 25-foot strip be dedicated to the City. Also, we have had many discussions with staff from PED and Public Works who have indicated that this dedication is no long necessary since the Port Authority wiil be owning and maintaining the 25-foot parcel for a landscaped green buffer as part of the redevelopment of the Great Northern Business Center, Phase I also known as the Maxson Steel site.
