WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council's Development
Framework policy calls on municipaliti.es to prepare and
adopt development plans; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is formulati.ng
policy plans and the Metropolitan Transit Commission in
preparing development programs are required by statute to
consult with municipalitzes; and
WHEREAS, the development of an urgently-needed
rapid transit system has profound impact on the development
and redevelopment of the City of St. Paul; therefore, be it
, RESOLVED, tha.t the City of St. Paul formally requests
that the City be directly involved in current transit planning
.decisions relati.ng to such questions as staging, rouia.ng, and
sta.tion locations; and be it , , ��
FUR.1°T;iER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution
be forwarded to the Metropolitan Council and the Metropolitan
Transit Commission with a request for prompt response to the
request of the City of St. Paul.
