1 WHEREAS, The City of Saint Paul wishes to honor Charles Schulz including the temporary
2 placement of five foot high, five hundred pound plastic "Charlie Brown" figures throughout the city
3 but generally not in residential areas, and
4
5 WHEREAS, These "Charlie Brown" figures will not be owned by the City, and every effort will be
6 made to place them on private property, but some of them may be temporarily placed within the
7 Public right-of-way, and
8
9 WHEREAS, This is a unique program with a public art benefit, and
10
11 WHEREAS, The Saint Paul Right-of-Way management ordinances establish requirements for
12 placing equipment or facilities in the public right-of-way, and
13
14 WHEREAS, the current fee structure does not address this situation,
15
16 WHEREAS, The right-of-way management costs will be minimal for this limited time, NOW
17 THEREFORE BE IT

19 RESOLVED, that any permit fees for this be and hereby are waived for a limited six month period.

Brown Around Town" is being handled the same as the "Snoopies on Parade" was in 2000.
Will waive permit fees otherwise required.
Permit fees will not be collected.
