RESOLVED, That pursuant to the authority granted to the Council of the
City of Saint Paul by Minnesota Statutes, Section 16g. 14, Subd. 5a, and in
accordance with the provisions thereof, and based upon an engineering and
traffic investigation as prescribed by the Commissioner of Highways, the
Council does hereby establish a 20 miie per hour schooi speed limit for the
Adams School zone, and the proper City Officials shall erect appropriate
signs designating the speed and indicating the beginning and end of the
reduced speed zone on the foliowing street which abuts the school grounds
or established school crossings:
On West Seventh Street from 150 feet southwest of Tuscarora Avenue to
150 feet northeast of Tuscarora Avenue.

Attached are resolutions that would autl�orize reductions in the speed ,
limit to 20 miles per hour arhen children are present at two locations within
the city. The two locations are Arcade St. between Magnolia St. and Jessamine
Ave. and W. Seventh St. at View St. These two locations are along State
Highways and we have received permission from the Highway Department to
install speed zones. A copy of the letter of authorization from them is
attached. Also enclosed is a copy of our engineering report citing street
width, traffic volumes, number of children, etc.
The City Council recently approved five other locations. IJith these
two, a total of seven will be in effect within the city, and as we indicated
previously, we will be reviewing these seven locations to deterr�tne if
additional zones should be installed later.
