WHEREAS, Chapter 5.02 of the City Chart�r provides that
the Council ma�y appoint special counsel to ttae City Attorney
upon his request; and
�� WHEREAS, Chapter 74 of the Legislative Code requires an
attorney to act as chairman and hearing officer of a panel of
Human Rights Ccxmiission merr�ers assembled pursuant to Chapter
74 of the Legislative Code to hear discrimination cases; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council hereby consents to the City
Attorney's request and approves the appointment of Mr. Thomas
hboney, attorney at law, as special counsel and hearing officer
in a certain discrimination case entitled "Donald Lewis,
Director, St. Paul Departmeht..of Human Rights, on behalf of Peter
Olivier vs. i�etropolitan Transit Commission", and sets his canpen-
sation for services perfornied at $40.00 per faour; his fees being
payable by and from the Department of Human F�ights.
