The Council of the City of Saint Paul has conducted a public hearing upon the above improvement, due notice
thereof having been given as prescribed by the City Charter; and
WHEREAS, The Council has heard all persons, objections and recommendations pertaining to said proposed improve-
ment and has fully considered the same; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby order that the above-described improvement
be made, and the proper City officers are hereby directed and authorized to proceed with the improvement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon the completion of said improvement, the proper City officers shall calculate
all expenses incurred therein and shall report the same to the City Council in accordance with Chapter 14 of the City Charter.

This purchasa is needed for storm wat�r ponding because of the
Tim�ted capacity available in the Metropolitan 1Jaste Control Commission
sewer kr�a+n as the Trouthrook Sewer. Ponding of storm water wT1I serve
as a means af regulating peak storm water flows into the Troutbrook
Sewer from the drainage area and wjll reduce discharge of saniCary sewage
ir�ta �h�e Mississ�ppi River at the overflow. ,,

Dear Mrs. Hunt:
T�te Public Korks Ccmmtittee meeting on July 30th
considered the Final Order for the improvezreent of
Jackson Street froan Asling�on to Larpenteur. Two
propexty owners on Jackson Street appeared and
e�pressed concern for the protection of their six
inch sanitary sewer located within Jackson Street
and being about 250 feet in length. This is not a
public sewer, but was built privately and services
only these two homes.
The homeowners wanted assurances that in the event
their sewer was damaged during the i.mprovement of
Jackson Street, that the City or its contractor
would be responsible to repair it. l�n reaponse to
your question, T atated that the City!'s contractor
wauld be responsible for the repair qf this se�er
ir� the event the contractor dan[aged. i�t durinq con-
struction.
