By way of background, the Minnesota State Legislature has appropriated an amount of money to be used for reimbursement for expenses incurred by local units of government when they comply with the state law regarding certification of Police Officers. The attached resolution is part of the mechanics we go through in order to receive state monies. Upon receipt of the resolution by the Minnesota Peace Officers Training Board and upon filling out 41 tndividual applications, the City will receive approximately $40,000. In anticipation of these receipts the Police Department did not request any training funds from the City of St. Paul for its 1976 budget, choosing instead to borrow from other accounts. Upon receipt the monies will be deposited to a special account for taining of the St. Paul Officers.  '{
