WHE AS, Chapter 5.02 of the City Charter provides that
the Coun il may appoint special cpunsel to the City Attorney
upon his request; and
WHE EAS, Chapter 74 of the Legislative Code requires an
attorney to act as chairma.n and hearing officer of a panel of
Human Ri hts Commission members assembled pursuant to Chapter
74 of th Legislative Code to hear discrimination cases; now,
therefor , be it
RES LVED, That the Council hereby consents to the City
Attorney s request and approves the appointment of Charles H.
Williams Jr. , attorney at law, as special counsel and hearing
officer n a certain discrimination case entitled "Donald Lewis,
Director St. Paul Department of Human Rights, on behalf of
Steven S Socha, PlaS.r�tiffs vs. Ramsey County, a political sub-
division of the State of Minnesota, Defendant", and sets his
compensa ion for services performed at $40.00 per hour; his
fees bei g payable by and from the Department of Human Rigl�.ts.
