267920 WHI7E - CITV CLERK COUIICII .'��t ��y� PINK - FINANCE GITY OF SAINT PAUL BLUERV - MAVORTMENT File NO. �� -�, ou cil Resolution Presented By Referred To Committee: Date Out of Committee By Date WHEREAS, Title I, Local Public Works Capital Development and Investment Act of 1976 of the Public Works Employment Act of 1976, authorizes grants to local government for local public works projects that will stimulate employment; and WHEREAS, during 1976 the City of Saint Paul has experienced an unemployment rate in excess of 6.5 percent; and WHEREAS, the City desires to submit a grant application under Title I of the Public Works Employment Act of 1976 for a project which will produce a maximum impact upon the unemployment of the City; and WHEREAS, the City lacks the financial resources to undertake such a large project; and WHEREAS, the project known as the City Hall Annex;Remodeling, Furnishings and Skywalk Bridge is ready for construction; and WHEREAS� the mayor has recommended that a project application be submitted to the Economic Development Administration, U. S. Department of Com�erce, for said project under the provisions of Title I of the Public Works Employment Act of 1976; be it now; therefore RESOLUED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to submit a grant application to finance said project under the provisions of the Local Public Works Capital Development and Investment Program pursuant to Title I of the Public Works Employment Act of 1976; be it further � RESOLUED, that Richard L. I�anning; be the official representative of the City to act in connection with the application and to provide information concerning .
