• An Administrative Resolution revising certain
Class Specifications in the Civil Service Rules.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable to change the Class
Specification for the title of Housing Aide II, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended by striking
from Section 49 the Class Specification for the title of Housing Aide II,
and substituting in lieu thereof, respectively, the attached Class Specification
for the title of Housing Aide .IZ.

Title of class:
HOUSING AIDE II
Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to perform routine inspections and investigations
of public and private facilities for the purpose of determining
compliance with the housing code; and to perform related work
as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To investigate complaints regarding improper storage and disposal
of refuse.
To determine ownership of parcels of real estate.
To investigate general nuisance complaints and obtain abatement where
warranted.
To prepare appropriate reports and make recommendations.
To assist in the inspections of exterior property axeas with regard to
sanitation, gradings, drainage, weeds, and insect and rodent har-
borage.
To assist in the inspection of the exterior of structures with regard to
the condition of f.oundations, walls, roofs, stairs, porches, railings,
windows, doors, hatchways, and screening.
To assist in the inspection of the interior of structures with regard to
dampness, condition of structural members, the safety of interior
stairs and railings, the imperviousness of bathroom floors, sanitatic�n,
and insect and rodent harborage.
To assist in the inspection of the basic facilities in occupancies with
regard to type and number of water closets, lavatories, bath tubs or
showers, kitchen sinks, water and sewer system connections, water
heating facilities, heating facilities, incinerators, rubbish storage
facilities, garbage storage or disposal facilities, and other sanitary
facilities.
To assist in the inspection of occupancies with regard to the conditi.or�
and number of plumbing fixtures, and with regard to ceiling heights,
floor areas, sleeping rooms, access, and location of bath and sleep-
ing units.
To assist in the inspection of occupancies with regard to light and
ventilation both natural and artificial, safety from fire, and general
maintenance and cleanliness.
To assist in the inspection of rooming houses with regard to bathroom
facilities, floor area for sleeping purposes, bed linen, towels, shades,
and drapes.
To assist in the inspections relative to the issuance of certificates of
occupancy.
To keep records and make reports of inspections.
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduati.on and one years' experience as a Housing Aide I or
equivalent or high school graduation and at least one years experience
in housing construction and 6 or more credits in courses related to
housing inspe�tion, Must have a Minnesota drivers' license.
