V Green Sheet # f �o52Z RESOLUTION Presented by SAINT PAUl, MINNESOTA Refened To Commiitee Date 1 Whereas,SaraPillowarrivedinthe�eatCityofSaintPaulin1980afteranalreadycommendablehistoryofcommunityservice 2 across tlte United States; and 3 Whereas, after arriving in Saint Paul, Saza Pillow got right down to the business of our community by becoming an acYive 4 member of numerous community organizations and causes; and Whereas, SazaPillow was elected to the Boazd ofthe Macalester-Groveland Community Council in 1984, and she consecutively served our neighborhood for over 17 years; and 7 Whereas,SataPillowhasbeenanexemplaryleaderfortheCommunityCouncil,servingasPresident,VicePresident,Secretary, 8 Treasurer, and as an active member of several Council CommitYees; and 9 Whereas, Sara Pillow has actively participated in Saint Paul's Capital Improvement Budget Committee, the District Council 10 Forum, the League of Women Voters and countless other community arganizations and task Yorces; and 11 Whereas, Saza Pillow has been at the forefront of community service, playing an acfive role in the betterment of our pazks, the 12 safety of our neighborhoods, the health of our neighbors, and the overall quality of our great city; and 13 Whereas,itistrulyfiriingandpropertothinkofSazaPillowandherlifetimeofaccompli'shmentwhenlookinguponthesplendor 14 of Saint Paul; now therefore be it 15 RESOLVED,farheryeazsofexemplaryservice,herhuecommitmenttothequalityofurbanlife,andherundyingpassionfor 16 Saint Paul, that Friday, May 18, 2001 be declared Sara Pittow Day in fhe City of Saint Paul, Minnesota.
