01-51y �RiGINAL Presented By Referred To Committee: Date 1� 1 WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Regional Rail AuthoriTy (RCRRA), pursuant to 2 Minn.Stat. § 398A.04, Subd. 9, and the City of Saint Paul, pursuant to Minn.Stat. § 471.59, aze 3 each empowered to enter into joint powers agreements; and 4 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, the RCRRA, and other government units abutting the Rush Line Corridor desire to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement Establishing the Rush Line Corridar Task Force (hereinafter the "JPA"); and WHEREA5, the purpose of the JPA is to analyze the feasibility, environmental impacts and the need for integrated transportation improvements including highway improvements, commuter, light and freight rail, recreational trails, Intelligent Transportation Systems, safety, congestion relief and land use and development issues along the Rush Line Corridor; and WHEREAS, a JPA has been prepazed to direct the consideration of transit improvements and land use along the corridor and is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; now THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby ratifies the attached 7PA Establishing the Rush Line Corridor Task Force; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Article 3, Section 2 of the 7PA and under separate resolution, the City of Saint Paul shall identify its authorized representative and its alternate representative to the task force.
