An Administrative Resolution establishing a new
tit,le and class specification in the Civil Service Rules.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable to establish a new class
title of Parking Meter Monitor Supervisor and Class Specifications for said
title; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended by adding to
Section 6, in Grade 19 under the heading "Clerical" Group, the title Parking -
Meter Monitor Supervisor; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be further
amended by inserting i.n Section 49, i.n proper alphabetical order, the attached
Class Specification for the new title of PAR.KIlVG METER MONITOR SUPERVISOR.

PARKING METER MONITOR SUPERVISOR
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
General Sta�ement of Duties: Supervises and performs the work of issuing
summonses for parking violations; and performs related duties as required.
Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of a division
manager.
Supervision Exercised: Exercises within the unit general supervision over
subordinate employees.
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED
The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in
this class.
Establishes and assigns monitoring routes to parking meter monitors.
Supervises the monitoring of parking meters.
Trains new parking meter monitors.
Investigates complaints and prepares written reports.
Inspects uniforms and equipment and recommends repair or replacement.
Directs a motor vehicle maintenance schedule.
Evaluates needs and recommends purchases of parking meter monitor
uniforms and equipment.
Prepares and presents reports as requested.
Patrols assigned areas of the City by motorized vehicle tagging vehicles
for violations of parking regulations.
Writes, issues and records swnmonses for parking violations including
expired meters, vehicles in tow away zones or truck zones, blocking
building entrances or fire hydrants or in violation of rush hour zones.
Alonitors parking meters and reports damaged and inoperative meters.
Provides information to the public concerning parking regulations, building
locations, directions and other information.
Testifies in court concerning the issuance of parking summonses.

jtiorking knowledge of preparing parking summonses and associated records.
Considerable knowledge of local parking rules and regulations.
Working skill in operating a motorized patrol vehicle.
Working ability to prepare traffic summonses, keep records and prepare
reports.
Considerable ability to meet and deaZ effectively with the public.
Considerable ability to plan, direct, and evaluate the work of a staff of
monitors.
MINIhiUh1 QUALIFICATIONS
Two years' experience as a Parking Meter bionitor or equivalent.
