The U.S. Department of Justice awarded a$254,500 Cops More 1998 Crrant to the Saint Paul Police Department
for enhancing the Police DepartinenYs technology. Tlus gant was accepted by the City Council on
Apri112, 2000 (Council File Number 00-334). This grant has been extended through Decembex 31, 2001.
(Attached is a copy of the letter approving the extension.)
The 2001 financing and spending plan needs to be increased for unused funds from this grant.

approved. Your new COPS MORE'98 grant end date is 12/31/2001.
As you l:now, the funds provided under COPS MORE'98 must result in an increase in the
num6er of fu11-time-equivalent (FTE's) deployed into community policing. The level of redeployment
is indicated on the award page of your grant and is the expected result of the funding of your original
