U.S. Department of Justice; and
WHEREAS, the City Council accepted this grant on January 27,1999 (Council File Number 99-8'n; and
WHEREAS, tlus grant award has been extended through April 30, 2001; and
WFIEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department needs to establish a fmancing and spending plan for
this grant in 2001; and
WFIET2EAS, The Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that
there are available for appropriarion funds of $23,805 in excess of those esrimated in the 2001 budget; and

We received your request for an extension to your School-Based Partnerships supplemental grant
awazd. The COPS Office has approved your request. Your new grant end date is 4130i01. We expect that
you will have completed the draw down of funds, as well as all phases of your project, by this date.
If you need additional time to complete these activities, please submit a letter indicaring the
additional rime required. However, please note that the COPS Office may not be able to offer grant
extensions beyond 18 nionths after the end of the ori�inal grant period. As a result, you should anticipate
completing all phases oFthe project (scanning [identifying] the crime problem, analyzing why it occurs,
developing tailored responses based on the z.°w.�ysis and assessing the impact of the responses) no later
than January 31, 2002.
