WHEREAS, the City, through its designated representatives, has met and conferred in order to establish the terms and conditions of employment for the calendar years of 1978 and 1979 for such personnel as �,re set forth in the "Memorandum of Understanding"; and • WHEREAS, a 1978-1979 "Memorandum of Understanding" has been reached which includes 1978-1979 salary adjustments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that tlie "Memorandum of Understanding" cited above, dated as of the effective date of this Resolution, on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby approved, and the authorized administrative officials � of the City are hereby authorized and directed to execute said "Memora.ndum of Understanding" on behalf of the City. MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING �� . ' ;., A. This section of the Memorandum of Understanding shall apply to the Civic Center Stage Employees holding the following titles: Grips Head Flyman Lamp Operator Propertyman Stage Carpenter Stage Electrician �- 1. The rates of pay applicable to the titles above shall be as shown below: Effective Effective 12-31-77 12-30-78 Grips $27.00 a performance $27.00 a performance Head Flyman $30.00 a performance $30.00 a performance Lamp Operator $30.00 a performance $30.00 a performance Propertyman $30.00 a performance $30.00 a performance Stage Carpenter $30.00 a performance or $30.00 a performance $247 per week $247.00 per week Stage Electrician $30.00 a performance or $30.00 a performance $247 per week $247.00 per week 2. The performance rate shall apply for all performances lasting up to three (3) hours. If a performance exceeds three hours, the time worked in excess of three hours shall be compensated at an hourly rate of one-third (1/3) the performance rate. 3. Effective Decemver 31, 1977, when four department heads, i.e., the Head Flyman, the Propertyman, the Stage Carpenter, and the Stage Electrician, are repre- sented on the same performance, hourly services for these four employees rendered between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight shall be compensated at the rate of $7.75 per hour; and hourly services rendered between 12:00 midnight and 8:00 a.m. shall be compensated at the rate of $15.50 per hour. Effective December 30, 1978, when four department heads, i.e.,the Head Flyman, the Propertyman, the Stage Carpenter, and the Stage Electrician, are repre- sented on the same performance, hourly services for these four employees rendered between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight shall be compensated at the rate of $8.00 per hour; and hourly services rendered between 12:00 midnight and 8:00 a.m. shall be compensated at the rate of $16.00 per hour. 4. Effective December 31, 1977, hourly services rendered by employees in the , title of Grips between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight shall be compensated at ' the rate of $7.00 per honr and hourly services rendered between 12:00 midnight and 8:00 a.m. shall be compensated at the rate of $14.00 per hour. This section of the Memorandum of Understanding shall apply to the employees of the City of Saint Paul employed in the title of Stage Technician. , The employees employed in the aforementioned title shall receive the following salary and fringe improvements: 1. Wages: a. Effective December 31, 1977, a salary increase of 5� (five percent) . b. Effective December 30, 1978, a salary increase of 5% (five percent) . 2. The Employer will provide for employees who retire after the time of approval of this Memorandum and until such employees reach sixty-five (65) years of age such health insurance benefits and life insurance benefits as are provided by the EMPLOYER for such employees. In order to be eligible for the benefits under this early retiree provision, the employee must: 2.1 Be receiving benefits from a Public Employee Retirement Act. 2.2 Have severed his relationship with the City of Saint Paul under one of the early retiree plans. 3. The City agrees to contribute the cost of hospitalization and medical coverage or $36.85 per month, whichever amount is less, for each employee who is eligible for such coverage. In addition, for each employee who selects Dependent's Coverage, the City will contribute one-half (�g) the cost of such Dependent's Coverage or $42.43 per month, whichever amount is less. These contributions shall be paid to the City's Group Health and Welfare Plan. Any increase in these costs shall be paid by the employee. 4. The City agrees to contribute the cost for $5,000 of Life Insurance � Coverage for each employee who is eligible for such coverage or $2.95 per month, whichever amount is less. This contribution shall be paid to the City's Group Health and Welfare Plan. This Memorandum provides a 5% wage i.ncrease for the SEags Technician title i.n 1978 and a 5% wage i.ncrease in 1979.
