WHERTAS, in accordance with Ordinance No. 15358, effective May 14, 1973,
the Department of Conununity Services has performed certain tree maintenance work
for the year 1976, and in accordance with said Ordinance the Department of Financ�
and Management Services has notified Che City Cauncil that the total cost of tree
maintenance services performed in 1976 will be $531,375.06, a copy of eaid report
being on file in the Office of the City Clerk and macfe a part of this resolution;
and
WHffit$AS, said Ordinance requires that the City Council determine the
portion of tree maintenance costs to be paid with City funds and establish a date
for public hearing at which times the Council would conaider adopting a levq of
service charges against benefited property; nora� therefore, be it
R13SOL�IED, That the Council o� the City of Saint Paul does hereby deter-
mine that the amount of the total coat of tree maintenance services that the City
will paq for such tree maintenance work performed during -the calendar year, other
than the amount which the Citq will pay as a benefited prop�rty owner, is hereby
determined to be the sum of $265,687.53, and that the total amount of such tree
maintenance servicea to be paid by means of a service charge fs hereby determined
to be the auun of $265,687.53; said assesemerit being levied at the rate of $0.990477
per assessable front foot; and be it
FURTIiffit RBSOLVED, That the Council of the Ci�ty of Saint Paul shall hold a
. public hearing on the adoption and levy of the service charges against benefited
propertq ou the 25th day of October, 1977, at the hour of 10:00 0`Clock in the fore-
noon, in �he Council Chambers in the City Hall and Court House for the purpose of
adopting service charges agaiust all benefited properties to be collected in the
same manner as other real property taxes, in 1978.

Members of the City Council
In compliance with Ordinance No. 15358, Council File No. 260889, effective
May 14, 1973, the Department of Finance and Management Services does hereby
inform the City Council that the total estimated cost of services performed
during 1976 for TREE MAINTENANCE, to be charged to the Forestry Fund, is
$531,375.06, as reported by the Department of Community Services.
It is proposed to assess $265,687.53 against benefited properties, with the
total costs to be financed as follows:
City Contribution $265,687.53
Assessments $265,687.53
Total cost for 1976 Tree Maintenance $531,375.06
Attached for Council consideration is a Resolution to determine the total •
cost for tree maintenance service, the amount and rates to be assessed, and
fixing a date for public hearing, at which time the Council shall consider
adopting and levying the service charge.
